I'm with Hitman on this one. I own both, have worked with both since Macs and Windows hit the market. By the way, 1984=Mac , 1987= Usable Windows 3.1.

I have programmed in Basic and C on both platforms, repaired, hardware modified all of them. It's a Ford vs. Chevy, German cars vs. Japanese cars, etc. type of argument. They both have their place, they both are OK.

I make a *damn good* living programming and integrating Microsoft OS, SQL Server, VB, C and ASP. Don't even BEGIN to think I don't know what I am talking about. I use Microsoft products because it is how I make my living. But at the end of the day, when I just want to use a computer without having to install patches, get OS crashes, debug driver problems, go to support.Microsoft.com ten times a day, install Service Packs that are not properly regression tested, fight viruses due to CRAPPY software testing and corporate QA programs, I'll take a Mac any day.

As we speak I am getting ready to buy a new PowerBook in the next month or so - that will be my 4th Mac, 5th Apple, and will takes its place along with 3 Windows PCs here at home. And it will have A PC emulation program on it so I can run Windows AS A TASK under OS X. And yes, I could get a PC notebook cheaper, but I want to see Apple succeed so I will pay them the money.

Some people "Think Different". Other people think like lemmings on a march to Redmond.

I don't want to fight mac users. I just on IBMs and feel like GOD when I use them... when I sit next to Mac I feel like a kid again or using a library computer or something... restricted on what I can do the way I want to do them. I guess both of them have positive and negative conotations...

I am not a kind of person to step out of a BMW and drive a Focus as my everyday car when I have a BMW resting in my garage. I would feel constricted and will sufficate with lack of power, performance and environment I got used to with a BMW. I like to drive it ALL THE TIME and leave the Focus to rest in peace. This is how I feel about Mac and IBM. However, some people like to settle down... and that is why they have Fords as primary cars.

Yup, you can not simply be productive on a mac like you can with a linux/windows pc. There is more productivity software available for linux than mac. Mac is really only used by movie makers, artists (both graphical and 'regular'), and musicians.

Going into networking, I see that I'll be using windows and *nix. I would never let my company buy macintosh.

I owned an iMac for about 6 months of my life a few years ago and it was the worst 6 months ever. I was always interested in Macs every time I want to the apple.com web site and I finally fell into the "Switch" trap. I had a very bad experience for it. I feel that if you are the type of person who uses the computer to do the traditional stuff, the Mac will do fine. But if you are the type that can sit on the computer for several hours straight, and have lots of options, Windows is much better. I think Windows XP is a really great Operating System that blows Mac OS X away. OS X's task bar is poor and not nearly as functional as the the WinXP task bar. I also have many other reasons for preferring a PC over a Mac. In the end, I really find it hard to recommend a Mac to anyone, especially since WinXP is so much more stable now.
Oh yeah, and I love my PC games. [:D]

Yes, Mr. Exclusive said it great, my life is pretty much school comp sleep and I need OPTIONS, I like to tweak it and screw with it, you cannot do that in mac. And I know that you can put a mac into a PC case, what I meant was you can't go to any computer store and buy mac hardware to build your own computer.

OH well i give up fighting with you windows freaks

I will never buy a pc again, my new viao will be my last, sony makes good computers but they do not have a good operating system.

The only reson i have a viao is because i like to play unreal tournament 2003 and thats the one reson i have it.

I never used a computer till about 2 years ago yea thats right only 2 years ago, i started with a viao that had windows 2000 i really hated that oerating system i think it is the worst, then i got my first ibook loved it and because i hadent really figured out windows i learned how to use mac real quick and now i find windows hard to use, about 6 months ago my mom wanted a computer so she bought me a new viao and took the old one as her computer, then about 4 months ago i droped my ibook right on its hinge it broke the frame around the screen, the computer works great but the hinge i a little loose, because of me braking mine they bought me a new one about 1 month ago, and it is all i use unless i am going to do some gaming then i use my vaio wich has dual 60 gig hard drives a g force 4 fx or something like that graphics card and it has a pentium 4 porcessor, I hate the operating system but like the computer, If it wasnt for the operating system i would prob. use it more. I turned it on today and explor kept freezing for no reason.

You see maybe because the first operating system i learned is osx thats why i find windows to be confusing, I can do ok on xp but the thing always fu*ks up and drives me crazy. I find osx to be easyer to use and easyer to change things. My school uses windos 2000 and they still all have a m blaster worm or whatever that was, word wont work and excell seems to mess up very offten.

I just find macs to be better overall and easyer to use and easyer to change...But thats just me.

OH and my ibook is a chick magnet chicks love the way it looks[:D] [:D]
